Sculpture Department

Established in the 1999–2000 academic year, the Department of Sculpture aims to educate creative individuals who are well-equipped in their field, possess a solid academic foundation, demonstrate self-confidence, and are capable of responding to the demands of contemporary art and society. During the first years of the four-year undergraduate program, students develop their observational and analytical skills by studying their surroundings and the natural environment. In the department's studios, they create studies of anatomical forms such as the head, hands, feet, and torso using clay. Following intensive work with live models, students continue their education in the stone, wood, and metal workshops, where they experiment with a variety of materials and techniques while developing original approaches to sculptural form and expression. The four-year program culminates in the completion of a graduation project and the successful fulfillment of degree requirements. Graduates of the Department of Sculpture may pursue careers as independent artists or work as sculptors, technical specialists, or art consultants in public institutions, private organizations, and cultural institutions engaged in the arts and cultural heritage sectors.
